Megan Booker Lohry

Megan Booker Lohry is founder and CEO of Turning Point Strategies, a communications advisory firm helping businesses communicate with those who matter most - employees, franchisees, customers, partners and communities - during pivotal times of transition (e.g. turning points). With a career spanning nearly two decades, Megan has established herself as a distinguished leader in strategic communications and change management across large, matrixed organizations as well as small to medium-sized franchised organizations.

Lohry has led communications for multiple M&A transactions, divestitures, reorganizations, and dozens of executive leader transitions, including two CEO transitions. The former head of communications for ServiceMaster Brands led all internal and external communications for the parent company for 4 years. In this role, she defined the company's M&A, change and crisis communications approach.

Launching her career at Kimberly-Clark Corporation, she honed her skills in internal communications and employee engagement collaborating with top executives, including the CFO, CMO, General Counsel, and Brand Presidents. While there, Lohry worked on nearly every segment of the business from shared services to brand communications to the functional center of excellence. This broad exposure laid the foundation for Lohry to build trust by speaking the language of the business with her stakeholders.

Recruited to AB InBev to transform the internal communications function globally, Lohry was appointed to partner in slightly more than a year while she led internal communications for the global CEO of the 150K+ colleague base. Lohry cut her teeth on crisis communications while at InBev, and her experience at the nimble multi-national brewer taught her to think globally and act locally, creating flexible plans that drive strategic alignment while also respecting cultural nuances.

During her tenure at ServiceMaster Brands, a portfolio of franchise service brands, Lohry crafted and executed comprehensive communication and change plans for over 30 leadership transitions and dozens of process transitions related to the private equity carve out. In her first year, the company achieved an impressive employee engagement rate of 87%, amidst significant changes, including welcoming 150 new hires and implementing a return-to-work plan post-COVID after relocating the company to a new state.

A trusted advisor

Lohry’s ability to build trust quickly with executives is evident not only in her professional accomplishments but also in her personal ethos. Recognized as one of the top three employees in her first year at ServiceMaster, she was celebrated for her leadership in communications and as a cultural role model, exemplifying accountability, creativity, and agility. Lohry's unique blend of analytical skills and creativity continues to drive her consulting work where her “all in” and continuous improvement mentality propels her deep sense of psychological ownership as she helps leaders navigate turning points to build trust and strengthen reputation.

The east Tennessee native earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Tennessee, an MBA from King University and a master’s degree in global strategic communication from Georgetown University.
